The problems in Egypt.

Till the other day Hosni Mubarak was a strong ally of the United States.He was propped up by Washington for the past three decades.Generous aid was given to the country,especially to the Military.
However,when the demonstrations started,there was a complete turn around ,not only by the United States but also by the European Union and Switzerland.Why Switzerland?-Because while it was making huge profits while he was in power,using his billions of dollars,the banks immediately froze his accounts when the demonstrations started.Now,is this not hypocrisy of the highest order?The situation in Egypt today with the Military in total control is taking trhe country back to the time of Nasser,the Colonel,who overthrew  King Farouk,and established a military dominance in the country.The poor country has been in the grip of the Military ever since.The stand taken by the United States is very depressing.It has engineered to block the Muslim Brotherhood and the pro-democratic forces from attaining power.What type of human rights are the Americans advocating?Israel,meanwhile,has let out a huge sigh of relief.The Military has agreed to respect International obligations and Treaties.All this has heightened the gulf between the West and the rest of the world.The probability of   the disturbances in Egypt and Tunisia spreading to other Gulf States and Saudi Arabia cannot be minimised.It looks as if the West are only fair weather friends.Afghanistan,Pakistan and other so called allies of the West will surely take note of this.There is going to be great turbulence in the times ahead.
